Homeopathic Remedies in Combination from Mataji Narayani

Mataji Narayani's combinations of homeopathic remedies have proven to be of great value and widely used. I came across the pamphlet and have used several of her recipes. My impression of her approach and her work is that she would be very happy to have her ideas made available to homeopaths everywhere. So I am going to reproduce topics in this Student Support blog section, on a regular basis. Subscribers can comment and give feedback on their use and results.

NARAYANI Blog 1. Introduction

MATAJI NARAYANI’S       Materia Medica of Combination Remedies        COMPILERS COMMENT ON THE NARAYANI REMEDIES

SINGLE REMEDY IS LIKE A SOLO ARTIST, unique and individual. The combination remedy is like a choir. Each has to be in harmony with all the others, working for a single outcome. Truly harmonious, effective combinations are quite rare and Narayani remedies—they just sweetly sing.

I append below the original preface:

“Mataji Narayani, then Norma Harman, started her practice under the spiritual guidance of Swami Venketasananda in South Africa many years ago. When she started clinic work there were no mixtures, but it very soon became easier to work by mixing single remedies. Eventually, they discovered that they were having wonderful results with these combinations. Mataji Narayani and Swami Venketasananda did relentless research with these combinations and today there are more than 300 combinations available for various ailments. These combinations have been tried and tested in three countries—India, Mauritius and South Africa—by qualified Doctors and experienced healers and have given relief to thousands of sick patients.

This book contains the entire works of Mataji Narayani in her lifetime. It gives the details:

215 remedies
117 Mixtures
34 Organ Mixtures
23 Balance Remedies and the latest
41 Narayani Specials.

This book will be of great benefit for the laymen and practising homoeopath for it will bring knowledge and spiritual upliftment and will be a true guide for selfless service.“

So these combinations are the end result of decades of clinical experiment in the real world and are presented here because they work. They are far too valuable to risk losing through any tyranny of current homeopathic fashion. They work extremely well and anyone who uses them quickly recognises their unique clinical value. In practice, they cause no confusion of the case or loss of clarity of symptoms. Cases resolve much faster.

Homeopathy is about matching similarity. If the patient is in one integrated totality then the similarity of state is one remedy. If the patient is in several pieces (dis-integrated) then the similarity of state is several remedies. If the patient broke into pieces all at once then the similar state is a combination of remedies. If the patient broke sequentially, one piece ‘breaking away’ at a time, then the similar state is a sequence of remedies. The best prescription is always unique and similar to the individual whether it presents as one remedy or several, a combination or a sequence.

Certainly they will be misused by those who think allopathically but want to use potentised remedies. Remedies can do no harm, despite classical paranoia, and since, worldwide, combination remedies are the most commonly purchased of homeopathic remedies, it suggests they are validated by the public wallet. Apparently, even ‘badly chosen’, they work well enough to keep people happy, classical theory notwithstanding.

For those homeopaths willing to try them out, to experiment and find the kinds of cases in which they show their best results, these combinations will repay in full and with great benefits the investment of considered use and all attention to the comments contained within each remedy description. Just try them out!
